Public data
A number of datasets, converted to the imzML format, have already been made publicly available.
3D Benchmark Data
Data were published alongside the article titled “Benchmark…” to provide a standard set of data that researchers could use to enable comparisons and evaluations of new computational methodologies. However, as some of the data has already been processed (baseline correction, normalisation) this limits the types of algorithms that can be applied to this data and therefore compared.

Simulated data
For the development and evaluation of computational algorithms it is important that there is some form of `ground truth’. Simulated data can assist in this area by generating data with known properties.
